Protest demonstrations were held in various cities across the United States against President Donald Trump's social and economic policies. 

Thousands of people turned out in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC, among other cities.

Meanwhile, protest gatherings were also held in major European cities, including London, Paris and Berlin.
