Govt will launch campaign to educate masses about preventive measures to combat coronavirus: Zafar

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza says the government will launch a campaign to educate masses about adoption of SOPs and preventive measures to combat coronavirus.

Talking to a private news channel, he said it was fortunate that less number of COVID-19 cases and death toll reported in Pakistan as compared to other countries of the world.

Dr Zafar Mirza appealed people to show maturity and responsibility by following SOPs and social distancing during relaxation in lockdown in the country.

He also commended the role of Ulema in educating the masses to avoid rush in mosques during the holy month of Ramazan.

Meanwhile, chairing a high-level meeting at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad, Special Assistant to on National Health said health workers are our front line heroes and we are providing safety equipment to them on priority basis.

He said government has provided one month stock of safety equipment to the professional health workers in PIMS Hospital.

He said all resources are being utilized to deal with the Corona pandemic.
