Pakistan, Turkmenistan agree to enhance bilateral economic, trade cooperation

Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation in different potential sectors for broadening the trade connectivity between both sides.

The agreement came in the second meeting of Pak-Turkmenistan Joint Working Group on Trade held virtually in Islamabad on Thursday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Additional Secretary Ministry of Commerce Pakistan,  Humair Karim and Head of Department of Foreign Economic Relations Turkmenistan,  Merdan Annagulyyev.

In his remarks the Additional Secretary said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan have long standing diplomatic and commercial relations and Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Turkmenistan.

Humair Karim shared the vision of the government, to make Pakistan a trade, transit and trans-shipment hub.

He also highlighted the importance of Pakistan as a hub for investment due to its access to world markets and ease of doing business policies.
