The Federal Government has constituted a committee to investigate the misuse of government's resources and manpower by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the protest rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad.
According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, the committee shall include Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Riffat Mukhtar, and Additional Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Munir Masood Marath, and a representative of the Intelligence Bureau ranked 20 or above.
As per its terms of reference, the Committee shall ascertain the number and types of government vehicle used in protest rally and number of government servants and public officials accompanying the rally.
The Committee shall also ascertain as to who ordered the KP government departments for use of government resources in the protest rally.
It shall also identify and fix responsibility on government servants who were complicit in mobilization and move of government resources for rally and will also identify persons involved in planning and coordination of the scheme for use of government resources in a violently charged political rally.
The inquiry committee shall submit its report within seven days.
