Acting President Yousaf Raza Gillani has urged the international community to translate climate pledges into concrete actions to ensure that vulnerable countries like Pakistan build a climate resilient future.
Addressing the closing ceremony of Breathe Pakistan conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said Pakistan cannot fight this battle alone, emphasizing that the principles of climate justice require developed nations to honour their commitments under the Paris Agreement.
The Acting President said Pakistan has taken significant steps to deal with Climate Change and for green energy transition. He said climate finance and carbon markets are being explored through innovative financial mechanisms to support a green infrastructure.
He called for collective efforts to make Pakistan cleaner, greener and more sustainable for generations to come.
