Advisor to Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad has said the government is focusing on cutting down its expenditure by right sizing.
Speaking at a panel discussion in Karachi on Friday, he said by adopting the right-sizing strategy, the government is closing some ministries or merging their departments.
The Advisor said 150,000 unfilled vacancies have been abolished.
He said the Finance Minister is determined that long-term sustainability should be prioritized over short-term relief.
Answering a question, Khurram Schehzad said the government is making tireless efforts to control population growth and adverse impacts of climate change.
