The United Nations has provided relief aid to seven million people in the flood-hit areas of Pakistan during past six months.
A Spokesman of the world body, Stephane Dujarric told reporters during his regular briefing in New York that the UN humanitarian teams provided food and other essential services to the affected people during this period.
He said the United Nations is also supporting the government’s efforts to help communities recover, restore their livelihoods, and prepare for next monsoon season.
However, he said, only 30 percent of this year’s Floods Response Plan has been funded and rates of child malnutrition remained of particular concern.
