Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar says promotion of sports activities is inevitable for harnessing youth's potential.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad today after friendly match between Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association and UK media teams, he said all stakeholders must work together for promotion of sports.    He said sports activities help engage our youth in healthy recreational activities.

Referring to the Sports Hunt program by PML-N government during its previous tenure, Attaullah Tarar said this program has been restarted. It provides the much-needed platform to the youth to demonstrate their talent.                         

The Minister said departmental sports are also being revived with the same purpose of promoting sports activities and bringing forward the talent which can represent the country internationally.                                      

Emphasizing that promotion of sports is one of the key priorities of the government, he said an international standard cricket stadium should be established in Islamabad.
