Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus will be the chief adviser of an interim government in Bangladesh.

The decision was made at a meeting between Bangladesh's President Mohammed Shahabuddin, military leaders, and the heads of the Students Against Discrimination group.

It comes a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced from power and fled the country, following weeks of students-led protests that spiralled into deadly unrest.
