Najam us Saqib (Former Ambassador): Taliban have announced the cabinet for new Afghan government. Some members have been allotted ministries on temporary basis. The entire world is eyeing on the current developments in Kabul. The Afghan Taliban have managed so far to give the impression to the world that they are capable to run the state affairs in effective way. It is a positive development that Taliban have announced the cabinet in short span of time. The cabinet includes the members from different ethnic groups. Two important regional stakeholders including Russia and China have already indicated to cooperate with new Afghan government. The international acceptance will greatly depend on consistency of diplomatic policies of Afghan government. Hopefully many countries will allow the Afghan government to operate Afghan embassies in respective countries. The world has acknowledged the long standing stance of Pakistan that there is no military solution to Afghan situation. We have no favorites in Afghanistan and Pakistan will definitely stand with the international narrative on Afghanistan.
Maj Gen (Retd) Ejaz Awan (Defense Analyst): Afghanistan is a sovereign state and just got freedom from illegal occupation. Now it is the time that there must be an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned government. All the ethnic groups including Uzbeks, Hazara and Pashtoons must be the part of the new Afghan government. Moreover, Taliban being in the power have all the rights to amend the constitution as per aspiration of Afghan people. Afghan Taliban have already stated that women are free to work under some terms and conditions. It means there will be no extra restrictions on women. Afghan Taliban stuck with the Doha agreement signed with the most powerful country and not violated the agreement even a single time. The United States has frozen the assets of Afghan Taliban soon after its withdrawal that may lead to increase in unemployment and violence in the war-torn country. Secondly, United States also destroyed the equipment that is totally unfair and may be considered as violation of Doha agreement.
Aqeel Yousafzai (Expert on Afghan Affairs): The Afghan Taliban and other Afghan leaders have reached a consensus on the formation of a new government. In my opinion, Taliban will keep their promise of a more inclusive government and be more accommodating than in the past. It is hoped that new Afghan government will be representation of all ethnic groups. The situation in Panjshir is almost clear.
Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert):It is a shameful act that the mortal remains of the iconic Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Gillani was snatched from his family by the Indian forces. It clearly means that India is in the state of frustration. Basically, India would trample all civil and human values in perpetuating its occupation of IIOJK and the world must take strict notice of Indian policies. The present Indian government has turned the Kashmir valley into the world's largest prison but it can never suppress the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris through brutal acts. It is the responsibility of international community to hold India accountable for its breaches of international human rights and humanitarian laws. Indian government is completely unaware of true meanings of democracy as it is also not giving the minorities their rights.
