Kenya's Defence Minister Monica Juma has telephoned Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi to discuss bilateral relations and evolving situation in Afghanistan.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised Monica Juma of the current situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan's perspective.
The Foreign Minister also apprised of the assistance provided by Pakistan in the evacuation of diplomatic staff, citizens and officials of international organizations from Kabul.
The two leaders appreciated the visit of the Chief of the Kenyan Armed Forces to Pakistan in June 2021, calling it a boost to defence ties between Pakistan and Kenya.
Meanwhile, Pakistan and Romania have agreed to further strengthen bilateral trade and defence ties and enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The agreement to this effect came during a telephonic conversation between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu today.
The two Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral relations and current situation in Afghanistan.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed the Romanian Foreign Minister on Pakistan's position on the situation in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister assured his Romanian counterpart that Pakistan is committed to continuing its assistance in the evacuation process from Kabul.
Romanian Foreign Minister thanked Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pakistani leadership for assisting in the safe evacuation of Romanian citizens from Kabul.
The Romanian Foreign Minister invited Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi to visit his country.
