Pakistan and Poland have agreed to enhance cooperation in security, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, illegal migration and between law enforcement agencies.

An understanding to this effect came at a meeting between Polish Minister and Head of the Council of Ministers Tomasz Siemoniak and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad.

The two sides agreed to finalize various Memorandums of Understanding, including on Mutual Legal Assistance, at the earliest.

It was agreed that a delegation of the Ministry of Interior, led by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, would visit Poland soon to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, illegal migration and organized crime. He said government measures have led to a sixty four percent reduction in illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe.

The two sides agreed to increase employment and legal migration opportunities for Pakistanis in Europe to curb illegal migration.

Tomasz Siemoniak said Pakistan and Poland have a common position on counter-terrorism and security issues. He said Poland fully supports Pakistan's sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region.
