The Rawalpindi Arts Council is set to organize a weekly cultural festival starting from the 25th of this month.
The announcement was made during the inaugural meeting of the Board of Management of the Punjab Arts Council in Rawalpindi, chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi, Liaqat Ali Chatta.
During the meeting, Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatta expressed that the formation of the board aims to promote art and culture in the Potohar region, facilitating the initiation of new endeavors through the support of the Rawalpindi Arts Council.
He highlighted that the festival, featuring Mushaira, music, flower displays, and cultural stalls, is expected to draw a significant number of participants from the community. Liaqat Ali Chatta encouraged all board members to contribute positive suggestions to enhance the promotion of art and culture.
Saqib Rafiq, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries, emphasized the importance of nurturing new talent and creating opportunities for the advancement of cultural activities. He also underscored the necessity of organizing cultural events within the historical buildings of Rawalpindi Division.
