Minister for Energy, Umar Ayub Khan says the government is taking measures to reduce electricity rates for consumers.

Talking to a private news channel, he said renewal energy projects would be launched in the country that will bring the energy rates down.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance of energy department, he said the government has recovered 112 billion rupees after controlling electricity theft in the country.

He said a new energy policy would be formulated to balance the system in electricity sector.
