
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to giving a new dimension to cultural and media ties with Uzbekistan.
He was talking to Uzbekistan Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on enhancing cooperation in the fields of media, film production and culture, including collaboration in the filmmaking sector.
Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan highly values its relations with Uzbekistan and is committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors.
He said various options are being considered for the joint production of short films, documentaries and drama series in collaboration with Uzbekistan.
He emphasized that the involvement of experienced production houses would be essential for the successful execution of such projects.
The Information Minister said large-scale film ventures could also be undertaken through joint funding. He stressed the importance of highlighting the shared history and rich cultural heritage of Pakistan and Uzbekistan through collaborative media initiatives.
Attaullah Tarar expressed the resolve to further expand cooperation between the media institutions of Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He said exchange visits of journalists from both countries would serve as an important step towards strengthening mutual understanding and professional collaboration.
The two sides also agreed to promote contacts between their social media teams, develop joint digital content and adopt a coordinated online promotional strategy to showcase the cultural and historical ties between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Uzbekistan Ambassador appreciated Pakistan's role and efforts in promoting peace in the region, particularly its contribution to the Islamabad Peace Talks and broader regional peace initiatives.
