Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has felicitated the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on the conduct of transparent, peaceful and politically vibrant elections in the region.

In a statement, he said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged as the majority political party in Gilgit-Baltistan elections and extended congratulations to the party's leadership.

The Prime Minister also congratulated the successful candidates of the PML-N saying they put up a strong contest and performed well. He praised the PML-N team for their hard work.

He also extended congratulations to all other successful candidates in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan deserve special appreciation for their active participation in political activities.

The Prime Minister said peaceful and transparent elections and political activities are the true beauty of democracy.

He praised the Election Commission for ensuring free, fair and impartial elections.

Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the police and law enforcement agencies for their role in maintaining peace during the elections.
