Nation remembers Abdul Sattar Edhi on 3rd death anniversary

The nation commemorates services of prominent philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi on his third death anniversary today.    

Abdul Sattar Edhi started welfare services in 1951.

He later established world's largest volunteer ambulance network along with homeless shelters, animal shelters and orphanages across the country.

Many international and national awards, including Nishan-e-Imtiaz were bestowed upon him in recognition of his services for humanity.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that late Abdul Sattar Edhi had served people without any discrimination and shared their sorrows.

In his massage on the third death anniversary of Abdul Sattar Edhi on Monday, he said Edhi was pride of humanity and true face of Pakistan whose life was a beacon of light for all social workers.

The Chief Minister said the Ehsaas Programme of the government is in line with the working-style of Edhi and its sole aim is to extend helping hands to under privileged people which will keep alive the tradition of serving humanity.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that Abdul Sattar Edhi served the humanity irrespective of religion, language and sect.

In his message issued in Karachi today on the third death anniversary of Abdul Sattar Edhi, he said we need to learn from the life of great philanthropist.
