President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have emphasized all institutions, communities and citizens to recognize resilience as a shared national responsibility.

In their separate messages on the occasion of National Resilience Day, being observed today, they said we must move from reacting to emergencies towards anticipating risks, with scientific knowledge, reliable data and emerging technologies playing a greater role in this effort.

National Resilience Day is observed every year on this day to remember victims of catastrophic 2005 earthquake and promote disaster preparedness.
