Minister for National Health Services Dr. Nadeem Jan has said that the interim government is taking effective measures to prevent citizens from the Congo virus.

In a statement, the Minister said since the outbreak of Congo virus in Balochistan, the Ministry of Health has been monitoring the current health situation and it is in full contact with the provincial governments.

He made it clear that there is no vaccine to prevent Congo fever. 

Dr Nadeem Jan asked the citizens to follow the guidelines issued by the National Institute of Health as the disease can be avoided by following preventive measures.

He advised the citizens to ensure that there are no ticks on animal body before buying or slaughtering sheep or goats.

He asked doctors to use personal protective measures such as gloves and masks when treating such patients.
