Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said all possible measures are being taken to safeguard overseas Pakistanis' interests.
He was talking to Chairman Overseas Foundation Syed Qamar Raza, who called on him in Islamabad today [Friday].
The Acting President said overseas Pakistanis, through their remittances, are playing a key role in country's development.
He said overseas Pakistanis are a precious asset of Pakistan and their issues should be resolved on priority basis.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said steps are also being taken to protect properties of the overseas Pakistanis. He said approval of a bill to set up special courts to protect overseas Pakistanis' properties is a significant development. He said under the bill, the special courts will dispose of cases pertaining to illegal occupation of overseas Pakistanis' properties within ninety days.
