Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has termed Intelligence-based operations as inevitable for restoring law and order and eliminating terrorism in the province.

He was addressing the participants of a meeting in Peshawar today during a press briefing on the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Governor categorically stated that there would be no negotiations with those who reject the state, Constitution and law and take up arms.

He said those who take up arms will be responded to in the same language and zero-tolerance policy is in force against terrorists.

He stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government demanded one hundred and sixty billion rupees for security requirements, which was supported by the federal government.

He described restoration of law and order in the province as amongst the top most priorities of government and expressed commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with security forces and police in the fight against terrorism.

Faisal Karim Kundi said it has been decided to provide modern weapons and ammunition to the police, along with improved salaries and compensation packages for the families of martyrs.

The Governor said good initiatives taken by Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan would be adopted under improved inter-provincial coordination.

He said development projects are useful only when people's lives are secure.

He said that half the battle could be won by restoring public confidence and strengthening ties between the police and the people.

Earlier, the meeting was informed that security forces had killed three thousand, seven hundred eighty-eight terrorists over the past three years, while two hundred fifty-five military personnel, three hundred two police personnel and three hundred four civilians had been martyred by September this year.

The meeting was also informed that the CTD's operational scope would be extended to all thirty-four districts, District Nerve Centres would be established and a Safe City Authority would be set up in ten districts of the province.

Artificial intelligence tools will be deployed to counter false and fabricated narratives on social media, while Smart Front Desks will be set up at four hundred six police stations in major cities across the province.

It was also decided to establish Dispute Resolution Councils and Tribal Liaison Committees in all districts, along with organizing monthly open courts and regular jirgas.
