The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a snow security alert for Murree and Galyat after the first snowfall of the season today [Sunday].  

In this connection, the snowfall security plan has been launched in Murree besides operationalization of all Sahulat centres.

Civil Defense volunteers have taken control of Murree routes and conducted a full dress mock rehearsal of rescuing the tourists.

The Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Irfan Ali also visited Murree to review the security arrangements and handed over three truck-loads of security equipment to the Murree DC.

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Aamir Rafique has also directed the traffic police to immediately send an additional force of traffic wardens to Murree. Policemen, who belong to Murree but are posted in the Rawalpindi Division, have also been offered to come for voluntary duties in Murree police stations.
