Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the nation to support him in his struggle to make Pakistan a truly democratic state.
Addressing the lawyers in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon, Nawaz Sharif said that he launched a movement for restoration of the judiciary and now he is going to spearhead the same for restoration of justice.
He said that PML-N believes in rule of law and supremacy of the constitution. He said that he is struggling for principles and positive objectives. He said that the entire nation, including lawyers, is supporting him in his struggle to achieve these objectives.
He said that law should be equal for everyone. He emphasized to hear hundreds of thousands of pending cases in various courts to ensure speedy justice.
The Ex-Prime Minister said he believes in sanctity of people's vote. He said that he, along with his family, has been appearing before the accountability court. He said that corruption of a single penny has not been proved against him.
Nawaz Sharif said that his accountability has started from 1962, when he was studying in class seven, while Imran Khan, despite confessing his offshore company in the name of Niazi Services, no punitive action has been taken against him.
The ex-Prime Minister said that his love for the people is unmatched and no one can take him away from people's hearts.
He said that US President Donald Trump's statement is unacceptable as it has hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan.
