Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has stressed for tackling climate change issue to ensure a sustainable and inclusive future.

Speaking at the closing session of the first joint regional conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Asia and Southeast Asia at the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, he highlighted the role of parliaments as engines of change in addressing global challenges.

He said South and Southeast Asia continue to grapple with issues including poverty and inequality, which necessitate regional collaboration and shared responsibility.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani highlighted the impact of rapid technological changes, including artificial intelligence and social media, cautioning against risks like misinformation and cybersecurity threats.
