First lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi has said breast cancer is a fatal disease and an extensive awareness campaign is the need of the hour for its early diagnosis and treatment.

Addressing an awareness session at an educational institution in Peshawar on Wednesday, she stressed awareness campaigns especially in the far flung areas of the country where mortality rate is too high due to ignorance and late detection.
