Punjab government has imposed a smart lockdown in eight cities of province from today to eliminate smog.

According to the notification, educational institutions, offices, shopping malls, restaurants, cinemas and gyms will remain closed from today to Sunday.

Medical stores, pharmacies, petrol pumps, bakeries and dairy shops are exempted from the ban.

The lockdown and section 144 is being enforced in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Hafizabad.

On the other hand, State Bank has announced that banks will also remain closed tomorrow in smog-affected districts.
