The UN Security Council has voted unanimously to extend cross-border aid operations to Syria from Turkey.
Syria’s close ally Russia also joined in the 15-0 vote to keep a key border crossing from Turkey to Syria’s rebel-held northwest open for critical aid deliveries for another six months.
Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and International aid groups warned that dire humanitarian situation in Syria is worsening.
The aid delivery mechanism across Turkey's border into rebel-held Syria at the Bab al-Hawa crossing is expiring on Jan 10.
