The Punjab government has re-activated Punjab Halal Development Agency under Punjab Halal Agency Act 2016.

Secretary Livestock Naveed Haider Sherazi issued a notification in this regard today [Thursday].

Meanwhile, newly appointed Chairperson PHDA Shafqat Rasool Ghman called on Secretary Livestock in Lahore today and discussed the future strategy of halal meat sector.

On this occasion, the secretary said Halal Agency is responsible for the trade of halal products across the province and enforcement of the existing rules of the Pakistan Halal Authority.

He said the issuance of Halal certificates and licenses will facilitate business in the local food industry.
