The second death anniversary of renowned playwright and literary icon Amjad Islam Amjad was observed on Monday.   

Amjad Islam Amjad was born on 4 August 1944 in Lahore. He made valuable contributions in the fields of drama and poetry.

He authored more than 40 books in his career and also received many awards including Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Some of the most-acclaimed TV series he wrote include Waris, Dehleez, Samandar, Waqt, Fishaar, Raat, Din, Eendhen, and Inkaar.  

Amjad Islam Amjad passed away on this day in 2023 in Lahore.
