Sweden has announced plans for a significant boost in military spending to two percent of gross domestic product as soon as possible, citing the security threat from Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson told reporters in Stockholm that the war in Europe is going to affect the Swedish people.

She said we need to continue to strengthen the Sweden defence capability.
