Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the relief assistance for the earthquake victims of Turkiye and Syria will be dispatched as per schedule.
He was chairing a meeting in Lahore on Friday to review the progress on dispatching the relief goods to Turkiye and Syria.
The meeting was informed that 34 relief flights will depart for Turkiye and Syria by 23rd of this month.
The meeting was apprised that two cargo planes carrying relief goods weighing 220 tonnes will fly to Turkey on Friday night while the second navy ship carrying relief goods will leave for Turkey and Syria tomorrow.
The Prime Minister directed random checking for ensuring the standard of tents.
He appreciated efforts of Finance Ministry to provide resources needed for preparation and dispatching of relief goods despite the current economic situation.
He also thanked NDMA, Finance Minister, Planning Minister, Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting besides ambassadors deputed in Turkey and Syria for their ongoing efforts for provision of relief goods to earthquake victims.
Shehbaz Sharif said that philanthropists are whole heartedly collecting donations for the earthquake victims.
