Mountaineer Uzma Yousaf would start her summit for the 8047m Broad Peak from 17th of this month.

Broad Peak is the 12th highest mountain in the world at 26,414 ft above sea level and is located in the Karakoram mountain range in Baltistan area on the border of Pakistan and China.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Uzma Yousaf said she did not have that much training when she climbed 7027m Spantik Peak last year but now she was fully prepared for the Broad Peak.  

Briefing the newsmen about her expedition, Uzma Yousaf said the expedition will last for 40 to 45 days.

Ambassador of Italy in Pakistan Stefano Pontecorvo, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said Uzma Yousaf was a role model not only for Pakistani women but for our females too.

The ambassador also gave her equipment for the summit.
