SBP launches commemorative coin of Rs70

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched commemorative coin of 70 rupees in connection with the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations.

A ceremony of issuing commemorative coin was held in Islamabad on Thursday, which was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong, Senator Faisal Javed Khan and Governor State Bank Dr. Raza Baqir.

Addressing the event, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan and China have been enjoying close relations since seven decades, and friendship between the two countries is all weather time tested.

He said both countries have been supporting each other on issues at all international forums. He said the bilateral relations are improving under the flagship program of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which is in its second phase. He said this mega project is helping Pakistan in creating job opportunities and enhancement of business activities.

The Foreign Minister said both countries have proven the close friendship during the global pandemic. He said Pakistan is grateful for China for provision of millions of anti-Covid vaccine doses as gift.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong thanked Pakistan for issuing the coin and other postage stamps in the past. He said both countries have unique relationship.
