
Chairman Applied Psychology Department, Government Islamia Graduate College Civil Lines Lahore, Dr. Kashif Firaz Ahmad says raising awareness about mental health and timely guidance can play a vital role in preventing suicide.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan, he said Pakistan's position on global suicide index has changed significantly, calling for coordinated efforts to address mental health challenges.
He said the approach of "Listen, Stay and Connect" is fundamental to suicide prevention and timely counselling can significantly reduce suicide risk.
Dr. Kashif Firaz Ahmad said World Suicide Prevention Day is observed to raise awareness about mental health, prevent suicidal behaviour, and reassure vulnerable individuals that they are not alone.
