Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani has said joint efforts should be made to restore security in the region, particularly in Afghanistan.

In an interview, he said the interaction and cooperation among regional countries to counter security challenges across the region is significant.

He slammed the United States for creating tensions in the region.
