UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for calm and a nationwide cease-fire in Northwest Syria.

Speaking at a daily press briefing, an associate spokesperson for Secretary-General, Stephanie Tremblay said Antonio Guterres has called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from escalating the situation.

She said that humanitarian conditions continue to decline due to ongoing hostilities and a deepening economic crisis.
