Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has said maintaining law and order is the sole responsibility of the provincial government.

Responding to points raised by lawmakers regarding the situation in Kurram, he said the Federal Government is there to cooperate with the provincial government if requested.

The Law Minister said Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi convened an all-parties conference over the matter, but unfortunately, the PTI did not attend as the provincial chief minister was busy with other matters. He urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to sit with the governor, who is a representative of the Federal Government, to sort out issues regarding law and order.

Rejecting the rounding up of people in connection with PTI’s onslaught on the 26th of last month, Azam Nazeer Tarar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has categorically stated that no innocent person should be prosecuted, but action will be taken against lawbreakers.
