Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says the International Conference on Girls' Education in Islamabad would help promote education among girls in the Islamic countries.
He was interacting with the Education Ministers and representatives of several Islamic countries in Islamabad today [Saturday].
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the delegates for their participation in the high-level conference.
He said Pakistan is confronting with different challenges in promoting Girl's education. He said around twenty-two point eight million children in the country are out-of -schools and majority among them are girls. However, the government is taking concrete steps to promote education across the country.
In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the government introduced important and practical reforms in the education sector.
He said we are looking forward to work with the Islamic countries in future for promotion of education.
Education Ministers and representatives from Islamic countries including Türkiye, Somalia, Malaysia and Maldives also spoke on the occasion and thanked the government of Pakistan for bringing the Muslim countries to share their expertise and ensuring promotion of education particularly for girls.
