Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Dubai on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Government Summit.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister commended the successful recent visit of the DP World delegation to Pakistan, saying that the visit resulted in fostering the meaningful investment collaboration between the two sides.
He stressed that such collaborations and activities would help enhance trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
Shehbaz Sharif lauded DP World's role in enhancing Pakistan's trade and logistics infrastructure. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the rapid completion of Intergovernmental Agreements signed with the DP World.
The Prime Minister informed that Pakistan, through the Special Investment Facilitation Council, has made investment procedures smoother and more transparent, improving the country's business environment for global investors.
The Prime Minister, while acknowledging DP World's vision and business strategy, recognized the company's potential.
He said the strategic location of Pakistan offers an opportunity for DP World to expand its operations in the country, following the success of projects like the Jebel Ali Port.
During the meeting, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for extending consistent support to DP World for boosting bilateral cooperation. He also reaffirmed DP World's commitment to ensure timely completion of the projects and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
The DP World Chairman apprised the Prime Minister about allocation of a dedicated exhibition hall to promote Pakistani products in the United Arab Emirates, saying that it will enhance access to the UAE markets and boost the visibility of Pakistani goods there.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister welcomed this initiative of the DP World.
