The 37th death anniversary of first elected President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir K. H. Khurshid is being observed today.

He was born in Srinagar in 1924.

K.H. Khurshid was appointed president of Azad Kashmir in 1959.                                                                   

He also served as private secretary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.  

K.H. Khurshid died on this date in 1988.       

Special ceremonies will be held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to honor his services for the Kashmir cause and pursuit of self-determination for Kashmiris.
