China has firmly opposed a visit by India’s Interior Minister to Arunachal Pradesh and views his activities in the area as violating Beijing’s territorial sovereignty.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin during his regular briefing in Beijing said Southern Tibet is China’s territory and the activities of senior Indian officials in southern Tibet infringe in China’s territorial sovereignty.

He said the Indian official’s visit is not conducive to the peace and tranquility of the border area.
