Water discharge from Harike and Ferozepur India in River Sutlej will be recorded at Sulemanki in the next thirty-six to forty-eight hours.

According to Pakistan Commissioner for Indus Waters and Flood Forecasting Division, this will cause inundation in low lying areas and villages, flooding of crops along River Sutlej and overtopping of roads.

The National Disaster Management Authority is sharing regular updates with Disaster Management responders for taking necessary precautionary measures and they have been directed to move people or at risk communities from low lying areas and place flood fighting equipment and machinery.

Directions have also been issued for maintaining adequate stocks of food and medicines in the area besides ensuring coordination for restoration of roads and communication links in the region.

According to the Pakistan Commissioner for Indus Waters and Flood Forecasting Division, a moderate flood wave in the Sutlej River is likely to reach Ganda Singhwala in the next 24 hours from Harike India.
