In Nigeria, at least 26 people have been killed and several others are missing after a ferry capsized in a reservoir in Mokwa area of Niger state.

The spokesperson for the governor of Niger state, Bologi Ibrahim said the boat was carrying more than 100 people, including women and children.

He said over 30 people were rescued, while a  rescue operation is underway.
