Pakistan achieves macroeconomic stability; heading towards economic growth: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan has attained macroeconomic stability and now taking off for economic growth.

Presiding over the Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad today, he lauded the tireless efforts of the government's economic team for achieving the milestone of macroeconomic stability.

The Prime Minister said the government is also taking effective measures and making untiring efforts to speed up journey towards achieving the goal of economic growth.

Turning to his recent successful visit to the United Arab Emirates, Shehbaz Sharif said he had very fruitful meetings with the world leaders including UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and Managing Director International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva, Chairperson of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Ms. Željka Cvijanovic, leadership of Kuwait as well as head of DP World on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025.

He said remittances from overseas Pakistanis have increased which is a testament of their trust in the government's policies.

The Prime Minister said he had held meetings with Pakistani investors in Dubai and invited them to invest in Pakistan, assuring them of ease of doing business.

Talking about his meeting with the IMF Managing Director, Shehbaz Sharif said the MD IMF lauded the efforts of the government of Pakistan to for revival of economy and praised team Pakistan lavishly. He said we have earned this appreciation through hard work.

The Prime Minister said the IMF MD commended Pakistan's efforts in effectively implementing the IMF-supported program, highlighting the country's improving economic performance with rising growth and declining inflation.

He informed the Cabinet members that the IMF MD response for low cot energy production in the country was very encouraging.

Turning to his meeting with Sri Lankan President, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy close brotherly relations. He praised the Sri Lankan government for sending its team of doctors to meet situation arising out due to Dengue Virus in Pakistan. The Prime Minister said he also invited the Sri Lankan President to visit Pakistan as per his convenience.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government's resolve for taking stern action against elements involved in human trafficking.

About Palestine issue, the Prime Minister said Pakistan presented the Palestine case in a befitting manner at the Dubai Summit as 50,000 innocent Palestinians have been martyred which is a great tragedy.

While reprimanding the irresponsible statements of the Israeli Prime Minister, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan would continue to protect the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at all cost.
