Bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates exceeded ten billion dollars during the fiscal year 2023-24.
This was stated by Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Tirmizi in statements to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
He said remittances from the UAE reached 6.7 billion dollars mark in 2024, and are expected to surpass 7 billion dollars this year.
The Ambassador said these figures reflect the strength of our economic partnership, and the vital role played by Pakistani diaspora in supporting the national economy.
He said there are nearly 19 Emirati companies currently operating in Pakistan as the UAE has invested significantly in communications, services, tourism, IT, oil and gas, housing, banking, and real estate sectors.
Talking about recent developments, the Ambassador said Abu Dhabi Ports Company and DP World have signed agreements for development of Karachi Port Trust and related railway infrastructure projects.
The Ambassador praised the role of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in streamlining Pakistan's investment climate through a one-window operation.
