NDMA anticipates increased flows in River Ravi Nullahs, Chenab catchments

National Disaster Management Authority has anticipated increase in flows of River Ravi Nullahs and Chenab Catchments in next 48 hours.

Consequently, people at low lying areas may get affected and it may disrupt transportation, damage the buildings and infrastructure. Crops and livestock may also get affected.

Furthermore, low to medium level flows are likely to enter in Hill torrents of D.G Khan Division up to 15th of this month. Heavy fall may increase inflows in Hill Torrents of D.G Khan and Rajanpur.

In a consequence, people at low lying areas may get affected. Crops, Infrastructure and livestock may also get affected.

NDMA has advised PDMAs and local administration to closely monitor the situation and take appropriate measures to safeguard the population at-risk. 

The public is advised to take preparatory actions including maintaining household drainage systems to prevent waterlogging. Report any blocked drains or potential hazards to local authorities promptly.

People are advised to take caution while travelling to landslide prone areas.

Communities at risk are also advised to follow instructions from local authorities.
