Sikh community observes 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak

Sikh community all over the world observed 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji today.

Main ceremony of the day was held at Gurdwara Janam Asthan at Nankana Sahib on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Ejaz Shah joined large numbers of Sikh religion followers from world over for ceremony.

Addressing ceremony, Interior Minister said that Kartarpur Corridor is a great gift from PTI Government for Sikh community paving the way for peace and friendship in region.

He said Pakistan will continue to look after holy places of minorities including Sikh community's in as better way as possible.

Addressing the ceremony, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said PTI Government is committed to protect religious heritage of minorities in country.

He said that Pakistani people have opened their hearts for Kartarpur Corridor project.       

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in his message on the occasion said opening of Kartarpur corridor has rejuvenated the joys of Sikh community and it is another historic step of the PTI government for promotion of religious harmony.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has congratulated the Sikh community on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

He said the birthday of Baba Guru Nanak is a festival of joy and religious fervour.

He said that Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the best example of religious tolerance and inter-faith harmony.

The Chief Minister said that Baba Guru Nanak promoted the message of brotherhood and government welcomes the Sikh community coming to the Punjab province for attending the birthday celebrations.

He said that Sikhs are enjoying complete freedom to live according to their faith in Pakistan.

Sardar Usman Buzdar said that special attention is being paid to the maintenance, renovation and security of Sikh community's worship places.
