In Iraq, twenty two Islamic State militants, including some leaders were killed in an operation by government forces in Anbar province.

Head of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Abdul Wahab al-Saadi said the operation was carried out in two phases by an airborne force in a rugged area north of Rutba town.
