Panelists at the National Press Club in Washington have urged the US media to hold Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi accountable for 2002 Muslim massacre in Gujarat.

The panel made demand in a statement after a BBC documentary on the Gujarat riots was screened at the National Press in Washington.

The panel included people who have first-hand connections to  events and they called for news media in the US to expose the key role of Modi, Gujarat chief minister at the time, in making it happen.
