Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a fresh surge in arbitrary arrests carried out by Indian forces.

According to Kashmir Media Service, arbitrary arrests are being used to intimidate pro-freedom Kashmiris and silence the voice of resistance in the occupied territory.

Indian forces arrested Hurriyat leader Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi in a fresh raid in Sopore, Baramulla district.

Meanwhile, the Indian forces’ massive cordon and search operation entered its 22nd consecutive day, today, in Rajouri district of IIOJK.

According to Kashmir Media Service, despite deploying thousands of troops, helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs and para commandos since the twenty-third of last month, the Indian Army, along with paramilitary forces and so-called Village Defence Guards, has failed to achieve any significant success even after three weeks of relentless military action in the Dori Maal forest area of Gambhir Mughalan in the district.

The forces have further tightened the cordon around the forest zone and intensified extensive search operations, turning the entire area into a virtual war zone.

Repeated door-to-door searches and heavy troop movement have completely disrupted normal life, leaving local residents in a state of constant fear, uncertainty and severe hardship.

The prolonged military siege once again exposes the limitations of India’s much-hyped anti-resistance operations and its increasing reliance on brute force to suppress the Kashmiri people.
